Analysis of Appraisal

While considerable attention has been paid to collection, and the development of the collocational competence of L2 learners in recent years, very little has been said about a related concept in teaching journals, namely semantic prosody, and L2 learners awareness of this phenomenon. In this paper the concept of semantic prosody is introduced, and discussed, before and experiment is reported investigating the semantic prosody awareness of three different sets of participants (university undergraduate Arab students, Arab English teacher, and Native Speaker (NS) English teacher), for seven lexical items for which specific  semantic prosody claims have been made by corpus linguists. The results show that the data from the NS group (when considered as a group) concurred with corpus observed semantic prosody tendencies for all seven items, but for the other two sets of participants the result were mixed regarding agreement. It would appear that for some items non-native users of English of different language levels appreciated the typical semantic prosody. For other items this was clearly not the case, and it appears that semantic prosody awareness can be incremental, or may not actually develop. Given the mixed data, it was suggested that explicit instruction about semantic prosody in the classroom may be of some value to learners.
AFFECT
Ø  While considerable attention has been paid to collection
Ø   the result were mixed regarding agreement.
Ø  it was suggested that explicit instruction about semantic prosody
Interpretation
Expression of the author in the text in general there are two, but here only found positive expression, the author reveals that the current lot of attention is given to the collection and how to develop it, it is possible for students in the learning process of L2 or second language learner has not understood colloction especially for students in the early years, so I have concern for this, but it is also the author reveals that the result results of his research be carefully considered and may be mixed with the other results it means that the results of research can be recognized and generally accepted by regarding this agreement proves that the study was not done in vain, the else clause is also the author reveals clearly suggest that explicit instruction about the semantic Prosody can be applied and implemented for those who learn English as a second language.
JUDGEMENT
Ø  L2 learners in recent years
Ø  and L2 learners awareness of this phenomenon
Ø  three different sets of participants
Ø  the NS group (…..) concurred
Ø  the other two sets of participants
Ø  for some items non-native users of English
Ø  may be of some value to learners
Interpretation
In addition the authors also express feeling wote judgment to learners who are L2 learners first in recent years is that it means their primary language or mother tongue is not English but English as a second language learners but it also strengthened the judgment recent years means that are new or beginners in learning the English language even in everyday life at the school they had to use English but here the author asserts L2 learners in the early years, and the author also wrote about the issue that has been mentioned before that the actual L2 learner students also are aware of this phenomenon , which is about the semantic Prosody as main discussion. In this case there are three types Participants involved in the study they were university undergraduate students Arabic, Arabic English teacher, and native speaker (NS) English teacher be expected to get different results by selecting a sample, it is evident that of the three Participants were get a different result, judgment is indicated that the NS group (.....) concurred, no judgment described herein that NS writer agrees with the results of the semantic Prosody corpus observation, but it is also the author gave judgment to the two types of the other two sets of Participants this participant means a participant is not the NS and the results are combined with a deeper agreement, the other non-native user clause judgment as another participant has a role in the use of the English language, the last judgment of the value or perhaps some of the learners themselves benefit from the results this study.
APPRECIATION THINGS
Ø  the development of the collocational competence…….. very little has been said about a related concept
Ø  namely semantic prosody
Ø  the concept of semantic prosody is introduced, and discussed
Ø  prosody claims have been made by corpus linguists
Ø  investigating the semantic prosody awareness
Interpretation
Besides giving judgment to the Participants involved in the study the authors also give some appreciation to Things and provide value, in the text it was also explained that the development of the collocational competence is still very little is mentioned in some related concepts, shows how little funding minimal research about this from the author here also conveyed that it should be considered, then there is the affirmation in the semantic appreciation by mentioning namely semantic Prosody  as an appreciation of introduction explaining to the reader that very little was mentioned in the related concept of semantic Prosody, so that the reader can also be expected to know the base of research, and also it prosody semantic Concept discussed or the subject of the study there was reinforcement that is the focus here is on semantic Prosody of almost the whole of the early authors explain, in the next clause also exists appreciation Prosody it's part of the corpus linguist is created by the corpus, showed that the semantic Prosody is part of the corpus linguist and boosted with appreciation Prosody Investigating semantic awareness to the idea that when it's already very aware of the semantic Prosody itself so that is the basis for thinkers conduct research, explained that at the beginning a little concerned about it, here collocation explained there Prosody semantic awareness about themselves that will be applied to the L2 learner to understand the concept of semantic Prosody easier and simpler way.
